#fitnessJourney: My Running Update 09/04/2018

Hello everyone,

Hope everyone enjoyed their labor day weekend! Who doesn’t like long weekends? 🙂

First of all, I would like to apologize for not being consistent in my writing lately. I have been feeling low with lack of inspirations and lack motivation. I am feeling a little worthless and not going anywhere right now… I don’t really know why. Maybe the change of season is doing that to me…

Can you believe it’s September already? It’s a month away from my race! Not much time left. I thought It would be a good time to give you an update since I have been MIA for a little while.

About 2 weeks ago, I had to do a 10 km test. I tried to mimic the route I will be doing in October and let me tell you, I was pretty pleased with the result. I did it faster than what I have done before and that’s without the adrenaline of it all. I had to reduce my running from 4 times to 3 times a week for a few weeks due to my foot pains, but it seems like it helped.

I have also been to the gym on my lunch break 2 times per week and it feels good to go home and not have to do that, just chill and eat at a regular time.

On the nutrition part, I haven’t been so good over the weekends. It’s so hard to be good on the weekends especially in the summer since it’s patio season. I have been drinking way too much, more than I should and since I like ciders a lot, this is a lot of sugars.

Now that we are in September and since we’re on the 1-month mark from my race, I need to be more careful.

So my goals for this month is to reduce my sugar consumption which means, less drinking, fewer restaurants, and fewer junk snacks.

The benefits of it will be a better running performance, most likely lose some weight and maybe help me feel better about myself. To help me with this goal, I may start recording my calorie intakes and maybe it will keep me in check.

Let’s see if I can stick to it and make it a habit. That’s the hardest part.

Have a great week!
